Name: Korg padKONTROL Driver
Author: Korg

Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the padKONTROL before running the Korg USB-MIDI driver installer. Run it as administrator, reboot when prompted, then reconnect the controller directly to a rear USB port.

Question 2

Device not detected / pads send no MIDI?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB cable and avoid unpowered hubs. Check Device Manager and Windows MIDI devices for “padKONTROL”; close Korg Kontrol Editor and DAWs before reconnecting so the MIDI port is not locked.

Question 3

Version conflicts / duplicate MIDI ports?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Korg USB-MIDI drivers with Korg’s MIDI Driver Uninstall Utility, clear unused MIDI ports if Windows reports the 10-port limit, then install the current driver and test padKONTROL input in the editor.
