Question 1

Install fails on Windows 10/11?

Accepted Answer

legacy Kodicom setup may be blocked by driver signature enforcement or require admin. Right-click setup, Run as administrator, use Windows 7 compatibility, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement; install the 32-bit driver only on 32-bit Windows.

Question 2

Card not detected?

Accepted Answer

Device Manager may show unknown multimedia/video controller or yellow mark. Power off, reseat the PCI card, try another slot (no/known-good riser), confirm 5V/3.3V slot compatibility, then scan for hardware changes and point the update to the extracted Kodicom driver folder.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

old Kodicom/DVR software drivers can clash after upgrades. Remove previous Kodicom drivers and bundled capture app, reboot, install matching driver and KMC 8016D/4400R/8800 software versions; if capture fails, roll back to the last working driver.
