Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the Kodak Z812 IS setup as administrator. If the package is for an older Windows version, use Compatibility Mode; for an unsigned INF, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reconnect the camera.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the Z812 IS directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. Set the camera to PC/Transfer mode, try another USB cable, and check Device Manager for an unknown device.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Kodak EasyShare/driver entries in Programs and Device Manager, reboot, then install the correct Z812 IS package. Avoid forcing a generic MTP driver if Kodak import software requires the original driver.
