Name: Kodak M522 STARTUP USB Device Driver
Author: Kodak

Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the Kodak M522 USB cable, uninstall older Kodak printer/scanner software, reboot, then run the driver installer as administrator. Connect the device only when prompted and avoid USB hubs.

Question 2

Device not detected / shows “STARTUP USB Device”?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear USB 2.0 port and a known-good short cable. Power-cycle the Kodak M522, remove hidden/unknown USB entries in Device Manager, and reinstall. If it stays in STARTUP mode, the printer may need a firmware reset or service-mode recovery.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove prior Kodak AiO/Home Center drivers and duplicate Windows inbox entries before installing the correct OS/bitness package. Prevent Windows Update from replacing the Kodak driver, and roll back if a generic USB driver takes over.
