Question 1

Installer fails on newer Windows?

Accepted Answer

The EasyShare M873 uses older Kodak software. Run the installer as administrator and in Windows compatibility mode for an earlier version; uninstall any partial install first.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Turn the M873 on, set it to PC/connect mode, use a direct USB port instead of a hub, and try a different cable. Check Device Manager for an unknown camera device.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Kodak EasyShare software and camera drivers before installing the M873 package, then reboot. Avoid mixing multiple EasyShare versions.
