Name: Kingston DataTraveler SE9 USB Device Driver
Author: Kingston

Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

The DataTraveler SE9 normally uses Windows’ built-in USB mass storage driver, so avoid forcing generic Kingston driver packages. If installation errors, open Device Manager, uninstall the device under Universal Serial Bus controllers or Disk drives, unplug/replug, and let Windows reinstall the inbox driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear/direct USB port instead of a hub, check Disk Management for an unlettered volume, and test on another PC. If Device Manager shows a warning, update the USB host controller driver from your PC or motherboard vendor.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old USB mass storage/filter drivers and duplicate Kingston utilities, then reboot. Confirm the SE9 has a drive letter and is formatted FAT32/exFAT; use Disk Management if Windows reports “No Media” or a conflict.
