Name: Kingston DataTraveler G3 USB Device Driver
Author: Kingston

Question 1

Install fails?

Accepted Answer

The DataTraveler G3 is a USB mass-storage device and normally needs no Kingston driver. If an installer errors, cancel it, remove any third-party USB driver, then reconnect and let Windows load its built-in USB Mass Storage driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Disk Management and Device Manager for an unknown device; rescan hardware and assign a drive letter if the drive appears without one.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

If an older USB storage driver causes Code 10/28 or the drive disappears, uninstall the device and driver in Device Manager, reboot, and reconnect so Windows reinstalls the native driver.
