Name: Kingston DataTraveler 2.0 USB Device Driver
Author: Kingston

Question 1

Install fails or shows “driver unavailable”?

Accepted Answer

The DataTraveler 2.0 uses Windows’ built-in USB Mass Storage driver. Don’t install third-party “Kingston” drivers; remove any downloaded package, reconnect, and let Windows install the generic driver via Device Manager > Update driver > Search automatically.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear USB 2.0 port directly on the PC, avoid unpowered hubs, and check Disk Management. If it appears there, assign a drive letter; if not, uninstall the USB Mass Storage device in Device Manager and rescan.

Question 3

Version/conflict errors with existing USB storage drivers?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall duplicate or older USB Mass Storage entries, reboot, and run Windows Update. Avoid forcing an INF from another Kingston model; the DataTraveler 2.0 should use the inbox driver.
