Name: JMicron JMB36X Controller Driver
Author: JMicron

Question 1

Install fails or Device Manager shows Code 10/28/39?

Accepted Answer

The JMB36X package may be blocked or unsigned on newer Windows. Run the installer as administrator, use Device Manager > Update driver > Browse to the extracted JMB36X folder, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement only if the package is from a trusted source.

Question 2

SATA/eSATA/IDE device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the controller is enabled in BIOS/UEFI and the port mode (IDE/AHCI) matches the attached drive. Reseat the PCIe card and SATA cables, try another slot/port, and check Disk Management for an uninitialized disk.

Question 3

Version conflict with Microsoft AHCI/older JMicron driver?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous JMB36X and hidden controller entries, reboot, then install the correct 32/64-bit package for your Windows version. Avoid mixing older drivers; roll back if Windows replaces it.
