Question 1

Installer fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The legacy NVIDIA package for the Jaton VIDEO PX8500GT 256 may reject Windows 10/11. Run the installer as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode; if it still fails, extract the driver and update manually via Device Manager > Have Disk.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the card in its PCIe slot, connect the monitor to the card (not onboard video), set PCIe as primary display in BIOS, then use Device Manager > Scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old NVIDIA/Windows Update drivers with DDU in Safe Mode, install the Jaton/NVIDIA package matching the 8500 GT and your Windows version, and block automatic driver updates afterward.
