Question 1

Driver install fails on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The iFP-1000 uses legacy iRiver USB drivers. Run the installer as Administrator in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode; if signature enforcement blocks it, temporarily disable it, install, then re-enable.

Question 2

Player not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use the original USB cable and a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Charge the player, check Device Manager for “Unknown Device,” remove it, reboot, and reinstall the iFP-1000 driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts with iRiver Manager?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older iRiver Manager/driver entries, reboot, and install the package matching the player’s firmware. Don’t mix iFP-1000 drivers with newer iRiver software.
