Question 1

Install fails or setup exits early?

Accepted Answer

run the Iomega parallel-port driver installer as Administrator in compatibility mode for its intended Windows version; temporarily disable antivirus and remove older Iomega Tools/Guest first.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

confirm the Zip is on LPT1 and BIOS parallel mode is SPP or ECP/EPP as required; reseat the cable, avoid USB-to-parallel adapters, and check Device Manager for port-address or IRQ/DMA conflicts.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

uninstall existing Zip, USB, or ATAPI drivers and Iomega Guest, reboot, then install only the matching Zip 100 parallel-port package; don’t force a newer generic driver.
