Question 1

Installer fails or exits immediately?

Accepted Answer

Run the IomegaWare/Zip 100 setup as Administrator and in Windows XP compatibility mode; on 64-bit Windows, disable driver signature enforcement during installation. Remove partial Iomega folders before retrying.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

For parallel-port Zip 100, set the BIOS parallel port to EPP/ECP and confirm LPT1; for SCSI models, assign a unique SCSI ID and terminate the chain. Reseat cables/power, then rescan in Device Manager.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate drives?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older IomegaWare/Guest drivers and duplicate Zip entries in Device Manager, reboot, then install one driver version matching your Windows architecture. Do not mix 32-bit and 64-bit packages.
