Name: Intermec ScanPlus 1800 Driver
Author: Intermec

Question 1

Install fails on newer Windows?

Accepted Answer

The ScanPlus 1800 driver is legacy and may be unsigned or 32-bit only. Run the installer as administrator, use Windows 7/XP compatibility mode if needed, and confirm you downloaded the correct architecture. Only disable driver signature enforcement if you trust the source.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the scanner’s interface mode—USB HID/keyboard wedge vs. virtual COM/RS-232. Reseat the cable, try another USB port, and inspect Device Manager for an unknown device or assigned COM port. Set that COM port in your POS or barcode software.

Question 3

Version/COM-port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Intermec/ScanPlus drivers and stale COM ports in Device Manager, reboot, then reinstall the matching driver. Avoid mixing generic HID and legacy Intermec drivers on the same scanner.
