Name: Initio ABP3940UA Driver
Author: Initio

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The ABP3940UA USB-to-SATA bridge often works with Windows’ inbox USB Mass Storage driver. Don’t force an older Initio package over a newer signed driver. Run setup as administrator, disconnect other USB storage, and reboot. If setup still fails, update manually in Device Manager via “Let me pick” → USB Mass Storage Device.

Question 2

Device not detected or drops out?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB 3.0 port/cable, avoid unpowered hubs, and use a rear port. Confirm the SATA drive has adequate power and reseat the bridge. In Device Manager, uninstall any “Unknown USB Device” or disk entry with “Delete driver,” then rescan.

Question 3

Version conflicts/yellow bang?

Accepted Answer

Remove prior Initio/ABP3940UA USB-SATA or mass-storage entries, reboot, and let Windows install the signed driver. Match 32/64-bit packages and roll back if a newer driver breaks detection; check Disk Management before initializing.
