Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus/endpoint protection, and confirm the package matches your Windows architecture and ID Vault model. Reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a different USB port directly on the PC, avoiding unpowered hubs. In Device Manager, uninstall any unknown/USB device entry, reconnect the ID Vault Security Device, and let Windows reinstall it.

Question 3

Version conflicts after update?

Accepted Answer

Remove older ID Vault driver/middleware via Apps & Features, reboot, then install the current package. If other smart-card/token middleware is installed, stop its service during installation and verify only one ID Vault driver version remains.
