Name: IBM ThinkPad T30 Driver
Author: IBM

Question 1

Install fails or blocks on T30?

Accepted Answer

Run the IBM package as administrator; if Windows rejects an unsigned/older driver, use Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. Install the T30 chipset/INF package first, reboot, then install audio, modem, or network drivers.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check BIOS for disabled serial, parallel, infrared, modem, or wireless devices and enable them. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if still missing, install the chipset driver and check for yellow warning icons.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove or roll back generic Windows drivers before installing the IBM T30 package. Avoid mixing IBM/Lenovo update packages; use Device Manager > Update Driver > Browse to select the correct T30 driver manually.
