Name: IBM ThinkPad T20 (264795G) Driver
Author: IBM

Question 1

Install fails or stops early?

Accepted Answer

Install the T20 Intel chipset/INF package before audio, modem, video, or power-management drivers. Extract the IBM package to a local folder and run setup as administrator; use Windows 2000 compatibility mode only if the T20 driver is unsigned.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check BIOS under Config > Device that the relevant device is enabled, then rescan in Device Manager. For mini-PCI modem/LAN cards, reseat the card and confirm the exact 264795G model before installing.

Question 3

Version conflicts with generic drivers?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the Windows generic display/audio/modem driver, reboot, and install the IBM T20-specific package. Use Roll Back Driver if a newer generic update breaks suspend, audio, or modem detection.
