Name: IBM Netfinity 10 100 Ethernet Adapter Driver
Author: IBM

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The IBM Netfinity 10/100 package is legacy; confirm it matches Windows architecture (32/64-bit). Run setup as administrator. If it still fails, open Device Manager, right-click the adapter, choose Update driver > Browse > Let me pick > Have Disk, and point to the extracted INF.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCI adapter and try another slot. Check BIOS for PCI NIC/onboard Ethernet enabled and no IRQ conflict. In Device Manager, look for an unknown Ethernet controller; install the IBM driver against that entry.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old adapter entries and third-party NIC drivers first. Prevent Windows Update from replacing the IBM driver by setting the IBM package as preferred, then reboot and verify link/speed in adapter properties.
