Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the HTC driver installer as Administrator and set compatibility to Windows 7/8 if needed. Close HTC Sync Manager first, then reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Desire 620 not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a data-capable micro-USB cable and a rear USB 2.0 port. On the phone, set USB mode to File Transfer/MTP (or enable USB debugging for ADB) and accept the RSA prompt.

Question 3

Driver/version conflict?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older HTC USB/ADB drivers and HTC Sync Manager, then in Device Manager remove the yellow-flagged “Android” or “HTC” device and rescan. Install only one HTC driver package.
