Author: Honeywell

Question 1

Install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the Honeywell 4800P driver package as administrator and check that the 32/64-bit version matches Windows. Remove older Honeywell scanner drivers/utilities first if setup still stops.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the USB cable and use a rear port without a hub. Confirm the 4800P is in the interface mode your software expects—USB HID keyboard or USB serial—by scanning the correct configuration barcode from the 4800P manual.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Multiple Honeywell scanner drivers or OPOS/HID utilities can conflict. Uninstall old Honeywell drivers and scanner tools, reboot, remove phantom entries in Device Manager, then reinstall the 4800P driver.
