Name: Honeywell 3800G Linear Imager Driver
Author: Honeywell

Question 1

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

The 3800G often runs in USB HID keyboard-wedge mode and may not need a driver. Confirm the USB cable, scan the USB HID or USB COM interface barcode, try another port, and check Device Manager for HID Keyboard or USB Serial.

Question 2

Install fails or COM port missing?

Accepted Answer

Run the Honeywell installer as administrator, match 32/64-bit Windows, and reboot. For serial/COM emulation, scan the USB Serial barcode, then assign the COM port in Device Manager.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Honeywell/POS scanner drivers and hidden COM ports, reboot, then install the latest 3800G driver. Avoid mixing drivers from other scanner models.
