Name: HL DT ST DVDRAM GT50N Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

The LG GT50N usually uses Windows’ built-in optical driver, so third-party packages may fail due to unsigned or missing INF files. Run setup as administrator, or use Device Manager/Windows Update to install the generic DVD/CD-ROM driver.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables and the BIOS SATA mode. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes, uninstall any yellow-flagged device, and remove CD/DVD upper/lower filter drivers if the drive disappeared after software installs.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Don’t mix old LG firmware/driver utilities with Windows’ native `cdrom.sys`. Uninstall conflicting burning suites or virtual-drive tools, roll back the optical driver, then reboot and rescan.
