Name: HL DT ST DVDRAM GT33N ATA Device Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data/power cable or reseat the drive in laptops. In BIOS, confirm the SATA mode (AHCI/IDE) matches your Windows install. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if the HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT33N appears with a warning, uninstall it and reboot.

Question 2

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

This DVD-RAM drive usually uses Windows’ built-in CD/DVD driver, so avoid outdated LG packages. Run any LG firmware/driver installer as administrator and in compatibility mode for your Windows version. If it still fails, let Windows Update install the generic driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old HL-DT-ST/LG drivers and third-party burning-suite filters. In Device Manager, uninstall the drive and delete its driver, reboot, then allow Windows to reinstall the native driver.
