Name: HL DT ST DVDRAM GT20N Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Install fails or “driver not found”?

Accepted Answer

The GT20N is an internal SATA DVD-RAM drive and usually needs no separate Windows driver. Remove any bundled LG driver package, reboot, and let Windows install the in-box CD/DVD driver.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port, and confirm the drive is enabled in BIOS/UEFI. In Windows, scan for hardware changes; if it shows a warning, uninstall it and restart.

Question 3

Version conflicts or odd behavior?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old LG firmware/driver utilities and roll back the driver in Device Manager. Only remove UpperFilters/LowerFilters if optical devices are missing. Reinstall the Windows in-box driver and update firmware only from LG support.
