Name: HL DT ST DVDRAM GSA T20N USB Device Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the LG USB DVD writer, remove any old “HL-DT-ST DVDRAM” entry in Device Manager (including hidden devices), reboot, then run the installer as administrator.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect directly to a rear USB port without a hub, try a different USB cable/port, and use Device Manager > Scan for hardware changes. Confirm the drive appears under DVD/CD-ROM drives.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous LG or third-party optical-driver packages, then let Windows install its built-in CD/DVD driver. Avoid driver packs; if a Windows update caused the issue, roll back the driver in Device Manager.
