Name: HL DT ST DVDRAM GP60NS50 USB Device Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Install or firmware update fails?

Accepted Answer

Windows normally uses its native CD/DVD driver for this USB DVD-RAM drive. If LG firmware/utility setup fails, run it as administrator, close burning apps, disconnect other optical drives, and retry. Avoid generic “driver pack” tools.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the GP60NS50 directly to a rear USB port, not a hub, and reseat the cable. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if an error appears, uninstall the device and reboot so Windows reloads the native optical driver.

Question 3

Version/conflict errors after Windows updates?

Accepted Answer

Remove old optical-drive entries, including hidden devices, in Device Manager, reboot, then reconnect the drive. Check LG support for the correct firmware and avoid legacy CD/DVD filter drivers.
