Question 1

Install fails?

Accepted Answer

If the LG GH24NS90 driver setup exits or rolls back, run as administrator, disconnect other optical drives, and use the latest package for your Windows version. For this SATA DVD-RAM drive, check Device Manager for a yellow mark and update via "Browse my computer."

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm SATA data/power cables, try another SATA port, and check BIOS/UEFI that the port is enabled. In Windows, rescan hardware in Device Manager; if the drive appears as "DVD/CD-ROM drives," no separate driver may be needed.

Question 3

Version/firmware conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old LG/third-party optical drivers, avoid forcing generic drivers, and don’t flash firmware unless the update matches GH24NS90 exactly. Reboot and let Windows install the standard SATA optical driver.
