Name: HL DT ST DVDRAM GH24NS50 ATA Device Driver
Author: LG

Question 1

Install fails?

Accepted Answer

The GH24NS50 normally uses Windows’ built-in DVD/CD-ROM driver. If an LG firmware or setup utility fails, verify the exact model/revision, run it as administrator, and do not force a different LG firmware. Remove the failed installer and let Windows reinstall the standard driver.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, BIOS detection, and Device Manager. If the DVD-RAM drive shows Code 19/31/39/41, uninstall it and rescan; remove third-party burning or virtual-drive filter drivers if needed.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Avoid mixing old LG firmware/driver packages with Windows’ built-in driver. Uninstall third-party optical software, then update motherboard chipset/SATA drivers from the motherboard vendor—not generic driver-updater tools.
