Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Update the SATA/AHCI/ATA controller and chipset drivers first, disconnect other optical drives during installation, and run the LG/Windows driver setup as administrator. Remove older optical-drive drivers if present.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port/cable, confirm the port is enabled in BIOS/UEFI, and look in Device Manager/Disk Management. Reseat the drive before assuming firmware or driver failure.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall third-party burning suites, virtual-drive tools, and old LG firmware/driver packages that may filter the optical drive. Let Windows use its built-in `cdrom.sys` driver, then reinstall the chipset driver and reboot.
