Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA/power cable or USB adapter, try another port, confirm BIOS sees the HL DT ST DVD RW GU70N, and use Device Manager > Scan for hardware changes. If there’s a yellow !, uninstall the device and reboot.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows update?

Accepted Answer

Roll back the driver in Device Manager, remove older LG/OEM optical drivers, and let Windows reinstall the inbox driver. Avoid mixing firmware utilities with driver packages; recheck burn/read after reboot.
