Author: LG

Question 1

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port, and confirm the drive appears in BIOS. In Device Manager, use Scan for hardware changes; if an error icon appears, uninstall the drive and restart Windows.

Question 2

Firmware/install update fails?

Accepted Answer

Close burning apps, remove any disc, and run the exact BH14NS40 LG firmware updater as administrator. Avoid USB-SATA adapters; connect internally. Verify the model before flashing.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows’ native optical-drive driver is usually sufficient. Don’t force older LG ODD drivers; uninstall the device with “Delete the driver software,” reboot, and let Windows reinstall. Use firmware, not generic drivers, for fixes.
