Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the HiTi S420 driver installer as administrator, disconnect the printer until prompted, and temporarily disable antivirus. Confirm you downloaded the correct 32-bit/64-bit package for your Windows version.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power on the S420, use a short USB cable directly into a rear USB port—not a hub—and try another port/cable. Check Device Manager for “Unknown device,” then reinstall the driver after restarting.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any existing HiTi S420 or other HiTi printer drivers and remove stale printer entries in Windows. Restart before installing the latest package; avoid letting Windows assign a generic driver.
