Question 1

Driver install fails or no installer exists?

Accepted Answer

The HTS545050B9A300 is a standard 2.5" SATA HDD and normally uses Windows’ inbox ATA/AHCI driver—there is no separate Hitachi drive driver. Install/update the motherboard chipset or Intel RST/AMD SATA controller driver instead.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check BIOS/UEFI SATA mode (AHCI vs. IDE/RAID), reseat the SATA data and power cables, and verify the disk appears in Disk Management; initialize or assign a drive letter if needed.

Question 3

Version conflicts after storage-driver updates?

Accepted Answer

If the drive disappears or causes boot/BSOD issues after an Intel RST/AMD SATA update, roll back the controller driver or switch to the standard Microsoft AHCI driver.
