Question 1

Windows setup can’t find the drive?

Accepted Answer

The Hitachi HTS545050B9A300 is a SATA HDD and uses Windows’ AHCI/ATA controller driver. If installation fails, check BIOS SATA mode (AHCI vs IDE/RAID), load the correct Intel/AMD storage driver during setup, and confirm the drive is connected to a working SATA port.

Question 2

Device not detected in Windows?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the SATA data and power cables, try another port, and check BIOS for the drive. In Windows, look under Disk Management and Device Manager; initialize/format only if the disk appears but has no volume.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts or boot errors?

Accepted Answer

Avoid generic “Hitachi HDD driver” downloads. If errors start after a storage-controller update, roll back the AHCI/RAID driver or revert to the standard AHCI driver; do not mix vendor RAID drivers with AHCI mode.
