Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Confirm you downloaded the HCL Laptop package for the exact Windows version and architecture. Extract the installer, run it as administrator, and reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for unknown devices. Enable Wi-Fi/touchpad in BIOS or with the laptop’s Fn key, install the HCL chipset driver first, then reinstall the specific device driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the old driver and HCL utility before installing the newer package. If audio, Wi-Fi, or Fn keys break after a Windows Update, use Device Manager’s Roll Back Driver or reinstall the HCL-supported version rather than a generic driver.
