Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the HCL desktop driver installer as administrator, disconnect extra peripherals, and temporarily disable antivirus. If setup still fails, update the driver manually via Device Manager using “Browse my computer.”

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the affected card or cable, check BIOS for disabled onboard audio/LAN/USB, and try another port or slot. For USB devices, remove extra hubs and power-cycle the desktop.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows Update?

Accepted Answer

Roll back the driver in Device Manager (Properties > Driver > Roll Back), then install the HCL package matching your exact desktop model and Windows build. Block Windows from auto-replacing it if needed.
