Name: Hauppauge WinTV HVR Series external USB TV tuner WinTV HVR 950Q Driver
Author: Hauppauge

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Hauppauge installer as Administrator and use the package matching your Windows version/bitness. Temporarily disable antivirus during setup, reboot, then reconnect the HVR 950Q only when prompted.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the tuner directly into a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub or front-panel port. In Device Manager, check for “Unknown device,” uninstall it, reboot, and reinstall the WinTV driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Hauppauge/WinTV drivers and applications first via Apps & Features and Device Manager, reboot, then install one current driver/WinTV package. Avoid mixing leftover 950Q drivers from different releases.
