Uninstall any previous WinTV/Hauppauge packages first, run the HVR-2255 setup as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus. Reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCIe tuner card, confirm it appears in Device Manager, and install the Hauppauge driver before the WinTV app. Check that the slot and BIOS recognize the card.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old WinTV software and hidden tuner devices in Device Manager, reboot, then install only the HVR-2255 package matching your Windows version and architecture. Avoid mixing generic tuner drivers with Hauppauge drivers.
