Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the Hauppauge installer as administrator, close WinTV/Windows Media Center, and temporarily disable antivirus. Use the full package for model 8880 and the correct 32/64-bit Windows version; reboot before and after installing.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the HVR-2250 PCIe card is fully seated in the slot and install/update motherboard chipset drivers. Check Device Manager for an unknown multimedia controller; try another PCIe slot if needed.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older WinTV/Hauppauge drivers, select “Delete the driver software” in Device Manager, remove stale tuner entries, reboot, then install one matching driver package. Avoid mixing Media Center tuner setup with an old driver.
