Name: Hauppauge WinTV 88x Tuner Driver
Author: Hauppauge

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Hauppauge setup as Administrator and temporarily disable antivirus. For older WinTV 88x drivers on Windows 10/11, check whether the driver is unsigned/blocked; install the correct 32-bit or 64-bit package for your OS.

Question 2

Tuner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCI/PCIe card, confirm it appears in Device Manager, and use Scan for hardware changes. If it shows as unknown, update the driver manually via Browse my computer to the extracted Hauppauge driver folder.

Question 3

Version conflicts or no tuner in TV software?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous WinTV/Hauppauge drivers and apps, remove the device in Device Manager with Delete driver software, reboot, then install one matching 88x driver package. Avoid mixing beta and OEM drivers.
