Name: Hauppauge WinTV 878 9 WDM Video Driver Driver
Author: Hauppauge

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Hauppauge setup as Administrator and use compatibility mode for the Windows version the 878 driver supports. Confirm you have the correct 32-bit/64-bit package; mismatched packages commonly fail on modern Windows.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCI card, check Device Manager for unknown/multimedia devices, and install motherboard chipset drivers. Try another PCI slot if the card is absent entirely.

Question 3

Version conflicts / tuner errors?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old WinTV software and any previous Hauppauge WDM driver, reboot, then install one matching driver/software set. Avoid mixing Media Center, WinTV, and legacy WDM packages.
