Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Download the latest Hauppauge package for your exact HD PVR model, run it as administrator, and reboot before retrying. Disable antivirus temporarily if it blocks the driver installer.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a rear USB 2.0 port directly on the PC, connect the HD PVR power adapter, and install the driver before plugging in the device. Check Device Manager for “Unknown Device” or USB Video.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the HD PVR, uninstall old WinTV/HD PVR drivers and capture software, reboot, then install the current Hauppauge driver. Avoid mixing Windows Update generic drivers with the Hauppauge package.
