Question 1

Install fails or setup hangs?

Accepted Answer

Close Hauppauge Capture and any TV/video apps, disconnect the capture device, then run the driver installer as Administrator. If Windows blocks an older driver, use the latest signed Hauppauge package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB port directly on the PC, not a hub, or reseat the PCIe card. Check Device Manager for warnings and reinstall the driver. For HD PVR/Colossus, confirm the correct input source and Hauppauge Capture version.

Question 3

Version conflicts/software won’t open?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Hauppauge Capture, drivers, and codec packs, reboot, then install matching driver/software versions. Avoid mixing beta and stable releases; check Device Manager for duplicate or outdated entries.
