Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the Handspring/Palm USB driver installer as administrator and use Windows compatibility mode for an older OS if needed. Disconnect the Visor cradle during installation, then reconnect it after setup completes.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the Visor is seated firmly in its cradle and try another USB port (or verify the correct COM port for a serial cradle). Restart HotSync Manager and check that the USB/serial connection is selected.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Palm Desktop, HotSync, or Handspring USB driver entries first, reboot, then install one matching driver/HotSync version. Avoid mixing Palm and Handspring driver packages.
