Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Remove any partial Gestetner/Ricoh AP3800C entries from Printers & scanners, restart the print spooler, then run the installer as administrator. For USB setup, connect the cable only when prompted.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the AP3800C has a valid IP on the same subnet, and enable RAW/9100 or SNMP if using a network queue. For USB, use a direct rear port and a known-good cable—avoid hubs.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Gestetner/Ricoh PCL, PostScript, or universal drivers before installing the AP3800C package. Avoid mixing PCL and PostScript queues for the same device, then reboot.
