Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Gestetner/Ricoh setup as administrator, match 32/64-bit Windows, and remove older Aficio/Ricoh drivers and unused printer ports first. If Windows blocks the package, use the signed PCL6 or PS driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Set a static IP on the Aficio 2228C, confirm you can ping it, then add a Standard TCP/IP port using that IP instead of WSD. For USB, try a direct rear port and a known-good cable.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Delete duplicate Aficio 2228C queues, remove conflicting Ricoh Universal or old Gestetner drivers, then install one driver type only. Install the full package if scanning/fax options are missing.
