Name: Gestetner 5502 Driver
Author: Gestetner

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect USB/network, remove old Gestetner/Ricoh print queues and unused drivers in Printers & scanners, then run the installer as administrator with antivirus paused. Reboot before reconnecting.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Verify the 5502 is on and its IP/port matches the configuration page. For USB, use a direct rear port and known-good cable, not a hub. Add manually via Add Printer > TCP/IP using the printer’s IP.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Windows may reuse an older Ricoh/Gestetner or generic driver. Delete duplicate queues, install the correct 32/64-bit package, and set it as default. If blocked, update Windows or use the vendor-signed driver.
