Name: Gestetner 1802d PCL Driver
Author: Gestetner

Question 1

Install fails on newer Windows?

Accepted Answer

Run the Gestetner 1802d PCL installer as administrator and in compatibility mode for an older Windows version. If setup still stops, add the printer manually via Add Printer > Local Port and select the extracted 1802d PCL driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the printer is powered on and connected to the correct port—USB001, LPT1, or the printer’s TCP/IP address. Restart the Print Spooler service and avoid USB hubs or adapters that can drop the legacy connection.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove existing Gestetner/Ricoh PCL printer entries and old driver packages before installing. Match Windows 32-bit or 64-bit, and use the 1802d PCL driver rather than a generic PCL6 driver, which may cause garbled output or missing features.
