Name: GENX Smart Scan 1200 Driver
Author: GenX

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the GenX Smart Scan 1200 setup as administrator, close scanner apps, and temporarily disable antivirus. If Windows blocks the driver, uninstall any previous GenX scanner software, reboot, then reinstall the latest package.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the scanner is powered on and connected directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. In Device Manager, check for unknown/Imaging devices; restart the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service and try another USB cable.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old GenX Smart Scan drivers via Apps & Features and Device Manager, reboot, and install only the newest driver. Avoid mixing older TWAIN/WIA components; if scanning breaks after an update, use Device Manager > Roll Back Driver.
